Shoveling snow

I faithfully changed the oil and the spark plug on my snowblower this year. When I finished I pulled the rope and it started right up just like a good snowblower. No problem, when the first snow came, I went out to use it without any thought that it would not start. But it didn't.
I had to shovel the whole driveway, something I haven't done since I was a kid. Believe me it is not the same. All I could think of was what my former boss used to tell me at work. He would give me a project to do that was huge and could not be done immediately. I would say this is going to take a while, it is so big. He would say, "do it just like you would eat an elephant, one bite at a time". I could not help but think of that as I shoveled. I had a big amount of snow to move (believe me the driveway is not as wide) and I could move only so much snow with each shovel full. Just keep shoveling and eventually it will be done. When I was a kid, I would shovel the whole driveway without stopping. I am almost 69 now, it took 3 rest periods to finish it. The elephant seemed bigger at 69 than it did at 17. I hope the snowblower comes back before the next storm. I've had my fill of elephant.
